This Japanese company has manufactured the WES (water energy
system), which they claim to be a new type of power generation system that
produces electricity from water.
The WES supposedly emits no CO2 and has no
environmental impact.
The system is claimed to be easily installed in a
residence, vehicle and / or transportable like a regular generator.
The water used can be distilled and/or regular tap water, although they
suggest pure water to avoid any impurities in the cell and rust issues.
The WES is not in mass production (as of yet), and the company is
strategically looking for development partners.
They say their intent is to produce cleaner energy production systems, and
are not operating for investment or speculative purposes.
The video below shows the WES installed in a small vehicle.
The video below shows an illustration of how the electricity is
produced in the WES cell.
It certainly looks feasible from a scientific point of view.
However, I'm not so sure how practical it's going to be going through a mass
production line, and it also looks suspiciously simple. Kind of makes you wonder
why this thing hasn't been out there already.
The company also states that they have no data indicating how
long a vehicle would operate with the WES system. This is confusing to me
because it would be a simple calculation based on electrical energy produced by
the WES operating a vehicle with a specific electrical load. So how come they
can't say for certain that under such and such conditions, the WES will produce
so many KW?
Anyway, the fact remains that breaking down water to produce electricity is
not a new idea, but being able to produce enough electricity to make the process
useful for mass production would definitely be new.
