Profile
I have been working in the electrical field for
about 8 years. For the past four years I have been employed by a company out of
Florida installing energy management and building monitoring systems. My
responsibilities consisted of, but not limited to, running 1/2" to 1" pipe,
running low voltage wires to pick up alarms, installing mag locks, door strikes,
and door contacts. The jobs also involved taking control of lights and HVAC

ultimate goal of becoming a licensed electrician.

To make a long story short, half of the employers I have worked for DID NOT
register me with the Connecticut DOL. Technically, I should have almost enough
hours on the job where I can take my E-2 test, but unfortunately, I have
continued to be screwed over time and time again. During my time as an
apprentice, I have seen the best of the best, and the worst of the worst.
Million dollar mansions, to the darkest, smallest crawl space that not even
animals would crawl into. I enjoy being an electrician, and I take pride in all
of my work, however I seem to be running out of hope. Seeing that I have spent
the past 6 years (including school) working towards my E-2, it makes it very
hard to change profession. I have I have been looking for an employer that is
willing to REGISTER me so I can FINALLY take my E-2 test, and continue on with
my life.
